Hard frost overnight, so although the sun yesterday dispatched some of the snow, there was a fair bit of ice around.
Because we were unsure of the state of the paths, decided on a trip to Sillico as the safest bet. Took the opportunity to show Lynn the walled town of Castiglione, where we had a cappuccino in a pleasantly lively bar ...
We had a rather bizarre encounter wit a group of four pigs near the road - we initially thought they were wild boar! - they seemed quite happy ... Up at Sillico, it was very cold, and we had our picnic stamping around in the snow, however the woodland paths were all dry crunchy snow and easy going - a very pleasant bracing winter walk.
