Yesterday we had a very convivial lunch with Carol and Ian in the Woolpack Inn in Beverley, then caught the ferry in Hull.  We had a good crossing, but I think tonight would have been different, so we were lucky.  From Zeebrugge through Belgium and past Lille is always a baptism of fire for the driver (Barbara) as the roads are complex and busy, and the satnav loses its signal just at that critical moment ...  However, once on the toll roads of central France, things calmed down, and we had a speedy trip in the sun (20ºC) to Langres where we are spending the night.
