Perugia

Now in Perugia - capital of Umbria ... and capital of chocolate!  This is a farthest south for us, and besides Perugia itself, we can visit Assisi and other ancient Umbrian towns.  Got here on Wednesday night, having travelled by train via Florence.

We have a flat right in the centre of the old town, in a lane running behind the cathedral.
What Perugia's all about - chocolate confections in the window of a top pasticceria
A view looking  west over the town from a suitable vantage point
Steps leading back to our flat - medieval aqueduct on right of picture
Window of our flat is top right in top building
14th century Palazzo dei Priori (now housing civic museums) and fountain - few people around at siesta time ...
Arty shot upwards from within one of the narrow streets
Another street near our flat
Outside our entrance - with another of Italy's essential gifts to the world - pizza to go ...
