Monte Gragno

Yesterday, we went for a walk/climb on the hill above the village of Cardoso - which we are happy to report now has a new cafe.  The streets of the village were slippy with polished frozen snow, but the forest paths were not too bad, being mostly soft wet snow.  Managed almost the whole path to Vallico Sopra before turning back in order to get to the car before dark.

Today, we all went in to Pisa and B&B said goodbye to Lynn at the airport before getting the train back to Barga.

In front of the Devil Tree - a 400 year old chestnut on the trail
Difficulty keeping a straight face as Bill deploys his contraption ...
Beside some giant heather with valley of the Turrite behind
One of many Christmas roses seen along the way
Late sun shining on the Appenines as we gat back into Cardoso
At the Campo dei Miracoli, Pisa
