A trip to Sweden ...

We had a lot of rain on Saturday continuing into Sunday, the most rain for many weeks.  Unfortunately we had a shipment of about a ton of firewood coming on Saturday, so we had to work hard to get it temporarily under cover before stacking early next week.

Sunday dawned very dull and rainy, so we took a trip to Ikea in Pisa, where in fact the weather was a bit brighter.

Our twenty quintali of wood (1 quintale = about a hundredweight)
It's not a tipper, so unloading was by hand
Bright colours despite the showers
And inside too with this display of washing accoutrements
Cryptic carving on Pisa's more famous landmark - the leaning tower

  1. oh my dear, you were right about wanting to postpone the delivery! I bet you had to tramp around in mud in order to secure the wood. I hope you didnt catch a cold while at it. On a positive side, on the picture the wood seems dry and of good quality. is it beech as promised?
