Castelnuovo and Lupinaia

It being Thursday, yesterday the excellent baker in Castelnuovo was baking delicious cornbread focaccia, so a trip was needed.  For those with the map, we went by way of Cascio (cafe closed on Thursdays) via Monteperpoli on the other side of the valley.

Our errand done, cappucinos drunk, we headed back to our side to have a walk around Lupinaia and Foscandora, among the vineyards.

Checking out the vine plants in Castelnuovo - how would they fare in Orkney?
Wood store in Lupinaia - one for the wood buffs - bottom layer old oak (cerro), middle layer new oak, top layer chestnut
A grand store of chestnut
A workmanlike doorway in Lupinaia
The virgin keeps a lookout over Fosciandora's vines
Part of the old track - Lupinaia in background
